Alright, Taylor Swift fans, come together, cause one of us is on The masked singer this season. Of course, knowing that the person in the Caterpillar mask is a Swiftie fan might limit the options to about half the planet, but you better believe I’ll be there to try to figure out who it is up to. which I am 100% sure.

Now I’ll be the first to say it… the Caterpillar costume is a little scary. Like, this is definitely something you would see in a terrifying fever dream. But that doesn’t mean the one below won’t be a pleasant surprise, so here’s what we need to work with so far to find out who Caterpillar is. The masked singer.

The clues

The first thing we know about the caterpillar is the smiley costume itself. It’s a yellow and pink fuzzy outfit with three pairs of feet. The head part has a toothy smile with suspenders and wears a helmet. It all seems hit and miss, but I’m sure at some point it will start to make sense.

At the time, the series had given only a small clue as to who is behind it all. In a short clip, the blurry bug said, “You might not know who I am yet, but I can tell a Taylor would. Especially this one, ”followed by a photo of Taylor Swift appearing. Very interesting.

Then there’s this longer clip where Caterpillar falls so! a lot! Info! It’s time to dissect the information we have from it:

  1. Caterpillar says they grew up on their own and their life has been nothing but a metamorphosis.

  2. The hurricane is brewing on the TV screen.

  3. They left home at a young age.

  4. Caterpillar has been to jail before.

  5. The framed image of the Great Lakes.

  6. Caterpillar watching itself on television.

  7. Basketball on fire.

ICYMI, Caterpillar made his debut on the hit show FOX this season as a wild card for Group B with a touching performance of Beyonce’s “If I Were A Boy”. Caterpillar returns to the stage tonight for what is sure to be another captivating performance, but until then, let’s assess who might be inside Caterpillar.

Brendon of Panic! At the Disco was featured in Taytay’s song “Me!” so some people think he is under the costume purely based on the association and general ~ vibes ~ of the clip corresponding to the color scheme of the costume. It’s not impossible, I grant it!

Netflix’s beloved interior designer strange eye adapts a lot given clues. For starters, do you remember seeing Bobby in T. Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” video? It was legendary. And get this: before you make it to the Fab Five, which by the way is the same nickname for the iconic University of Michigan men’s basketball team in 1991, hence the Great Lakes shot, Bobby was one of at least two Christians. rock bands, so he has musical experience. But more so, Bobby has been outspoken in the past about some of the challenges he faced growing up gay in the Bible Belt, which ultimately led to him running away from home at age 15. TBH, it’s going to be pretty hard to convince us that Caterpillar * isn’t * Bobby because all the signs are pointing at him! Alas, only time will tell.

Another friend of T. Swift who is also a singer is Todrick Hall. In case you don’t remember, he was in Taylor’s “Look What You Made Me Do” and “You Need to Calm Down” videos (and even co-executive produced the latter). He also just released his fourth album last summer, so this could be a good promotion for him. Buuut, literally, there is too much evidence supporting that Todrick is in fact The Bull right now, so much of it is.

Okay, yeah, this one seems overkill, but some people really feel like Law and Order: SVU Star Mariska Hargitay moonlights like a giant caterpillar. She was in Taylor’s “Bad Blood” music video AND Taylor named one of her cats after Mariska SVU character, Olivia Benson. There is one tiny problem with this theory, however: Mariska has no known track record as a singer (although TBH, it never stopped after Masked singer competitors before, so who knows)!
