Bernard continued, “For me it was like bringing the show to this place where we now recognize, for better or for worse, made sense as a place to stop it. The show was able to lift the curtains and show you how this thing started, how it evolved. Not to say that other stories would not be convincing in the future. But for me, stopping at the moment we had delivered the world we live in today made sense, thematically and narratively.
