Manhart ‘MHX6 700’ Tuning Kit Takes BMW X6 M Competition to New Heights


More than 30 years have passed since Manhart Performance was founded in the populated town of Wuppertal, where they still operate today. Aiming to “Satisfy the needs of individualists who do not want to be satisfied with the normal”, Manhart’s illustrious automotive connoisseurs make absolutely no compromises in their quest for an extraordinary tuning package for your drive.

At first, the company only specialized in modifying M-branded BMWs, but its skills have since evolved to encompass several car manufacturers, German and otherwise. Wuppertal’s aftermarket experts take every step of the in-house customization process, from painting and interior adjustments, to manufacturing premium exhaust systems and stylish carbon fiber body kits.

A few weeks ago my colleague presented you with a modified Audi RS Q8 (aka “RQ800”) with a lot of oomph under its hood, although this is only one of the many Manhart entities that we have looked at in the past. . While we get into the subject of majestic SUVs, we’ll take the liberty of presenting this tuner’s take on BMW X6 M competition.

To be fair, the Bavarian giant is an absolute beast right out of the box, sporting a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 that puts out up to 617 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of relentless torque. Power from the engine is transmitted to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the top-of-the-line X6 to go from zero to 60 mph (96 km / h) in astonishing 3.3 ticks.

The Bimmer can cover the quarter-mile in a staggering 11.6 seconds at 120 mph (193 km / h), which is pretty impressive for a car rated at 5,209 pounds (2,363 kilograms). Now it’s unclear how Manhart’s tuning treatment affects these numbers, but we do know that the BMW Colossus was made up of 730 PS (720 hp) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of twist.

To achieve this, the Germans can either remap the standard ECU or install an MHtronik auxiliary control module. The whole event is accompanied by a new stainless steel exhaust with electronically controlled valves and four tailpipes coated in carbon or ceramic. Plus, you can opt for racing downpipes and cat removal, but this setup is obviously not road legal. While the specific details aren’t clear, Manhart says the power bump can be paired with better quality brakes as well.

Following the installation of high-end H&R lowering springs, the vehicle’s ground clearance has been reduced by 30 mm (1.2 inches). The X6 M Competition also wins Y-spoke shoes wrapped in a sinister coat of satin black paint, all of which measure 23 inches in diameter. Moving on to the bodywork, there is a variety of forged carbon accessories that make Bavarian SUV look even harder.

At the front, the AWD the giant received a sporty parting lip and groovy embellishments around the grille, while the sidewalls were adorned with side skirts and custom mirror caps. To the south there is a beefy rear diffuser with integrated LED lighting and a two-piece spoiler, as well as angular inserts around the side air vents.

The carbon fiber witchcraft continues inside the cabin, where Manhart has added paddle shifters and an assortment of forged composite steering wheels, along with beautiful floor mats.
