From odes to the very padding it helped popularize to lucha libre-inspired sets, the Nike Air Max 90 has dressed up in countless outfits in its 31 years since its debut. For its latest proposal, the sneaker indulged in a multicolored arrangement with a handful of spring-related details.
A grayscale arrangement takes up most of the pair’s multi-material upper, although the profile swooshes and TPU components along the tongue part in much more vibrant tones. Cutouts at the fender swap the standard ‘AIRMAX’ branding with an ‘air-prung’ message that hints at the sneaker theme. The shoes on the left feature a butterfly graphic on the sock lining, while a chenille silhouette takes up the swoosh logo on the heel. Underfoot, the soles forgo all tumbled leather and canvas, but opt for some of the spring-like yellows, greens and reds that enliven the upper.
A Nike.com release is probably months away, but you can enjoy the official images of this kids’ pair right now.
